Comedy Review Feb.4/2011. Absolute Comedy: LENGWENUS, McMANN, EVANS

COMEDY REVIEW Feb. 3^rd 2011: DERICK LENGWENUS/SCOTT McMANN/ANDREW EVANS
It’s Thursday evening at Absolute Comedy and it’s another sold out show.
The well oiled staff is making sure that everybody is seated properly and have their food and drink served to them before the show starts at 8:30pm. 

For the most part the audience was a hip young crowd.  The energy in the room was great.

 
The M.C. for the evening was Derick Lengwenus.  The moment he hit the stage the audience is struck by his professional sounding voice.  And his voice was not the only thing that was professional.  He showed great improvisational skills. He bantered with the audience, and had them eating out of the palm of his hand.  He has a clean style with some physical stuff that was brilliant.  The audience will never look at the female reproductive system in the same way!

First up was Scott McMann.  His presence on stage is strong, complete with a twisted deviant sense of humour that flirts with the line.   And that’s fun stuff.

The headliner is Andrew Evans, which was a true pleasure.  From his opening joke –referring to his personal appearance- he had the audience in stitches.  An instant hit.  This comedian is one of the best I have ever personally seen.  I, and the audience could have listened to him all night.  His humour is clever and he seems to always provide the audience with a unique and honest twist on whatever subject he presents.  Bravo!
